We created these lovely portraits of our classmates by using Blind Contour drawings.
A Blind Contour drawing is when you draw something without looking at your page, not even once! Your pencil stays on the page the whole time in one single line for the ENTIRE drawing. It's a lot harder than it looks because it's so tempting to look at what we're drawing and be very precise (with our eraser in hand). This exercise really frees students from thinking everything has to be perfect in art and look exactly like it does in real life. They turn out so BEAUTIFUL!
